The Access Program for the Master’s Degree in International Law, Foreign Trade, and International Relations is designed for those seeking to build a career with a global outlook, integrating legal knowledge with the dynamics of international trade and relations between states, organizations, and economic actors. Introduction and objectives
Along with the best training for access to the practice of law, prepare yourself to be able to practice in an international context. Globalization is a fact and the training of lawyers must adapt to this phenomenon, which is changing legal practice. Today, even family businesses are likely to face complex legal issues, involving immigration law, international labour law, international trade or complex tax law regulations.
In the face of this phenomenon we find that training in law schools does not sufficiently prepare lawyers to deal with it. This requires additional specialisation and that this comes from specialists who are used to working in this new environment. Moreover, this preparation cannot be limited to a mere study of the different subjects that make up the law. More than studied, it must be lived in an environment that reproduces the real cases we will encounter and know how to solve them successfully.
After completing the academic stage of both programs, students will carry out an internship in their areas of specialization at one of ISDE’s collaborating firms. This stage involves a real integration within the host firm, as the student will, from the very beginning, integrate with the rest of the team.

STRUCTURE
Two stages:
- Stage One: On-site instruction

- One academic year for Master of Access in Law and one academic semester for the Master in International Law, Foreign Trade & International Relations.

- Master of Access in Law: Classes take place Monday to Friday.
- Master in International Law, Foreign Trade & International Relations: Classes take place Monday to Thursday.
- Certain mornings, students will attend lectures and practical sessions at ISDE’s offices and / or collaborating institutions, with offices in Madrid (Spain).
- The Master in International Law, Foreign Trade & International Relations includes an academic stay at NYU, in New York (USA)
- Stage Two: Internship

- Mandatory and unique stage for both programs after completing the Master of Access in Law. Internships will take place at firms or legal departments of large national and international ISDE collaborating companies (more than 250). Internships are validated for both programs.

Second phase
INTERNSHIPS FOR THE PRACTICE OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION
Once the first phase of the program is completed, the student will have the necessary tools and instruments to practice law.
To deepen and demonstrate these practical skills, in the second phase, students join law firms, both national and international. There, they are guided by a lawyer-tutor who introduces them to the firm’s working mechanics and the legal matters in which the student will participate.
The student’s placement is determined by the Master’s Direction based on academic results, the analysis of each student’s personal profile, and the requirements set by the law firms themselves. This ensures the success of the internships and proper guidance for the student.
MASTER’S THESIS
Through the Master’s Thesis, the student has the opportunity to delve deeper into a topic of their interest, applying the knowledge acquired and their problem-solving ability in new or unfamiliar environments within broader contexts related to their area of study. This means that the student must integrate knowledge and face the complexity of making judgments from incomplete or limited information, which includes reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
Note:
This qualification is currently undergoing reform to adapt it to Law 15/2021, of October 23, which modifies Law 34/2006, of October 30, and unifies access to the professions of Lawyer and Court Agent, as well as Royal Decree 64/2023, of February 8, which develops the aforementioned Law. For this reason, modifications may occur in the structure and content of the curriculum.

ACCREDITED DEGREE
Once the relevant Program has concluded and ISDE has verified that the STUDENT has completed their work satisfactorily, the STUDENT will receive the corresponding Degree certificate for each PROGRAM.
In compliance with current legality and, specifically, as set forth in article 4.4 of decree 84/2004, it is noted that ISDE’s programs are professionally oriented and therefore, unless explicitly stated otherwise, they are courses that do not lead to the acquisition of a title with official value, but to that of a proprietary title from ISDE.
